This month we are talking about wisdom. Our definition of wisdom is finding out what you should do and doing it. This past Sunday, September 13, your child learned about Queen Sheba's visit to King Solomon. This story is found in 1 Kings 10:1-13. As a matter of fact one of the best ways for your child to remember this story would be for you to read it together at home. Maybe one night you read the story and another day let them tell the story to you. Let them have some ownership in leading spiritual discussions at your house. You will probably be amazed at what they know!
We discovered in this story that WISDOM IS WORTH SEARCHING FOR. People in other countries were beginning to hear about Solomon's wealth & wisdom. To help your child connect the dots with Solomon. Solomon was King David's son and took over the throne after David died. On the first Sunday of September we talked about how Solomon recieved his wisdom. Solomon could have asked God for anything but he chose to ask for wisdom. This story is found in 1 kings 3:4-28. I know it was a holiday weekend so if you weren't here take a few minutes to review that story and talk with your kids about it at home or in the car.
Our Bible verse this week is Proverbs 8:10-11. Each week we send out an email with a refrigerator door that goes on your refrigerator door with information as to what you can talk about at home with your kids. I know it can be hard to make formal time to talk about God at home so this will help those in between moments at your house. Every time you open the refrigerator you are prompted to think about God & your kids. If you don't recieve that email and would like to please email brendav@fbcmonline.com
Remember to TALK with your KIDS this week about GOD!
